DWU announces 2025 Performing Arts Hall of Fame inductees

This year’s DWU Performing Arts Hall of Fame inductees will be honored at the second annual banquet on Sunday, May 4

MITCHELL – Dakota Wesleyan University will soon enshrine its second class of honorees into its Performing Arts Hall of Fame. This designation acknowledges the contributions and support of performing arts by alumni and friends of the university.

This year’s inductees will be honored at the second annual Performing Arts Hall of Fame and Awards banquet on Sunday, May 4, at 6:30 p.m. in the Pratt Alumni Board Room in the School of Business, Innovation and Leadership. The event is open to the public. Online ticket sales will begin in March.

This year’s selection in the Educator category is long-time DWU Theatre professor and alumnus Darryl Patten’60 who will be inducted posthumously.

In the Professional Achievement category, alumni Ken’62 and Diane’62 Ketel of Rapid City will be honored.

In addition to the Hall of Fame installation, several student awards will be presented including the Sinfonia Service Award, the Soladay Instrumental Music Award, the Mary Wing Medal for Dramatics and others.

Prior to the Hall of Fame event, the Ron and Sheilah Gates Department of Music will perform its annual Spring Concert at 4 p.m. in the Sherman Center. Admission to the concert is free.
