COS, CSL, CTM

Course of Study, Certificate in Theology and Ministry, Certificate in Service & Leadership
- Course of Study (COS) is a 20-course program that educates clergy in the Methodist church. There are dozens of licensing schools that administer the COS.
- Certificate in Theology and Ministry (CTM), similar to COS, is an online program offered through United Theological Seminary teaching students basic theological foundation for ministry.
- Certificate in Service and Leadership (CSL) is an equivalent program offered through United Theological Seminary equipping students for service in a variety of ministries in a church.
DWU will grant at least 24 credits for scholars who have completed or are currently completing these programs from any qualified licensing school.
Credits granted for all three programs can be applied toward DWU's online degree programs. You can choose to complete a 100% online associate or bachelor's degree in either Nonprofit Administration or Organizational Leadership.

Local Foundations
Check with your local denominational Foundation office. Your conference, synod, presbetary and local church may also have scholarship money available.
General Board of Higher Education and Ministry (United Methodist Only)
Applications open December 15th and will close March 24th.

Dollars for Scholars Program
Dollars for Scholars is a unique source of funding with its own application process. Applications close in March annually. You may be eligible for both a general scholarship and a Dollars for Scholars award.
