  B.A. Criminal Justice

Hometown: Riverside, CA

Hobbies/Interests:
When I am not at work I enjoy watching movies and playing board games of any sorts. My favorite summer activities have to be camping and fishing with friends and family. As an undergrad, my passion was throwing for DWU’s track team; now, I am a volunteer throwing coach for the team.

Why did you get involved in residence life?
Res. Life has an impact on the experience students have on campus and I wanted to be a part of that experience. Mentoring students, counseling, setting up events, and building strong relationships, who wouldn’t want to be a part of that?

What are some fun facts about you that people may or may not know?
I saved every single movie ticket since 2013. Theater has always been another passion of mine and I find acting on stage invigorating.

Danny Sandberg - Director of Residence Life

dasandbe@dwu.edu

Education: Minnesota State University Moorhead
M.S. Public, Human Services and Health Administration
B.S. Marketing

Hometown: Aitkin, MN

Hobbies/Interests:
I love hockey. I am a huge MN Golden Gopher fan and have followed the team throughout most of my life.  I also love the USHL and watching those players climb through the ranks from high school all the way to the pros. My wife and I enjoy walks around the neighborhood. We are also known to jump in the car and go for an evening drive around Mitchell.

Why did you get involved in residence life?
I saw the need for positive change, support, and advocacy. Residence life is like no other in that you have the opportunity to impact lives literally everyday - I can't imagine any other way of life for me. I truly enjoy being a part of the change people see in themselves. Everyday is an opportunity to grow and I love to be there for people and help them navigate through the many challenges of life.

What are some fun facts about you that people may or may not know?
I have a rather large (and very irrational) fear of cows and horses. I haven't eaten beef in nearly 6 years. I've been skydiving twice.  I have lived in 6 different states.
