DWU, McGovern Center panel discussion upcoming
The McGovern Center at DWU will offer the next in its series of presentations focusing on immigration and deportation on Monday, April 7.
MITCHELL – The McGovern Center at Dakota Wesleyan University will offer the next in its series of presentations focusing on immigration and deportation on Monday, April 7, in the DWU School of Business, Innovation and Leadership, Room 117, at 7 p.m.
This event is a panel discussion (rescheduled from February) addressing the topic: “Immigration and Deportation Impacts on South Dakota.” A panel of authorities will take and discuss questions from a moderator and the audience. Panel members include former immigration attorney John Hakari, Community Relations Director for US Immigration and Customs Enforcement Mary Hogan, South Dakota Voices for Peace/Voices for Justice CEO Taneeza Islam and Ben Ready, Southeast Regional Director for Senator John Thune.
Remember that respect and good manners are expected of all participants. The panel discussion is free, open to the public and will also be livestreamed at www.dwu.edu/live.
The final event of the series will be a presentation entitled “Voices of Resilience: Immigrant Stories of Hope, Struggle and Triumph” to be held Monday, April 14 at DWU at 7 p.m.
