Snow Days & Other Emergency Closings
Snow Days & Other Emergency Closings
Occasionally it is necessary to cancel classes for a day due to weather or for other reasons. When a decision is made to cancel classes, an announcement is recorded at 995-2123. In addition, notice is immediately given to local radio stations (KQRN/KORN, KMIT, WNAX) and local TV stations (KDLT, KELO, KSFY) for broadcast.

When classes are cancelled due to a safety related issue, such as bad weather, University employees are excused from work for the period of the cancellation. If classes have been cancelled for some other reason, such as a funeral or other special activity, the President will decide if University employees should report to work. When the University decides to close for those reasons for a period not exceeding three (3) work days, employees will be paid for those days. Payment is otherwise at the discretion of the University.
