'No Sex Please, We're British' opens Friday

Dakota Wesleyan University and Mitchell Area Community Theatre are teaming up yet again to bring a production to the stage.

“No Sex Please, We’re British,” will be performed at the Pepsi-Cola Theatre for Performing Arts, Mitchell, opening this weekend. The British farce is directed by DWU’s theatre director Daniel Miller.

The production will be at 7:30 p.m. on Oct. 4, 5, 11 and 12, with shows at 2 p.m. on Oct. 6 and 13 at the Pepsi-Cola Theatre for the Performing Arts on Main Street in Mitchell. Tickets are $10 and $12. The show is suggested for audiences 13 and older.

As the first production of the season, Miller has high expectations for the show.

“I hope the audience will enjoy it. I have acted in this show and also directed it before to great success,” he said. “Those audiences loved it so much we extended the run. Also, in my eight years at DWU I have never directed a farce and this offering absolutely qualifies as your very funny British farce play.”

The story focuses on a young, married couple who order Scandinavian glassware, but receive Scandinavian pornography instead. The couple attempts to figure out what to do with their purchase as the plot is complicated by other characters.
