The provost is the chief academic officer at Dakota Wesleyan University. In addition
to academics, the provost oversees library services, TRiO services and student life.


Rochelle “Rocky” Von Eye earned her B.S. and M.S. degrees from South Dakota State University in mathematics and computer science, and her doctorate is from University of South Dakota. Dr. Von Eye has been at DWU since 1984, teaching courses in computer science and mathematics. She has also been assistant academic dean and acting vice president for academic affairs.

Dr. Von Eye has received the Presidential Award for Excellence in mathematics teaching, and a Kellogg National Leadership Fellowship.

Emily George and her husband moved to South Dakota from Pennsylvania in 2006. She has worked at Dakota Wesleyan University since September 2006 and recently received her Associates Degree in General Business. Her duties as executive administrative assistant include supporting the president, executive vice president, provost and faculty. Her additional responsibilities include assistant international student adviser.

Emily and her husband reside in Woonsocket with their dog Pepper, where they grow aronia and haskap berries. Emily is active in the community as treasurer of Woonsocket Township, secretary/treasurer of the Woonsocket Community Club and president of the Huron Heartland Garden Club.
