Dr. Alisha Vincent has a doctoral degree in educational administration from the University of South Dakota; a master’s degree in organizational development and psychology from Walden University; and a bachelor's degrees in mass and speech communications from Black Hills State University. Prior to arriving at Dakota Wesleyan, she served as the director of service-learning and a leadership and global issues professor at a Wesleyan-affiliated institution. Past experience also includes serving as a non-profit administrator and consultant. Dr. Vincent currently serves as the President of Esperance Education Institute, a global non-profit organization dedicated to educating under-served populations around the world. She is passionate about teaching and uses academic service-learning as a pedagogy in order to connect students to opportunities to make a difference while they learn course content. Her research and teaching interests include: leadership in the non-profit sector, academic service-learning, and international education.
