Family Death or Funeral Leave
Family Death, or Funeral, Leave [TOP]
The purpose of family death leave is to provide up to three work days (24 hours) of leave to attend to arrangements for the deceased, or attend memorial services, or due to bereavement at any one time in case of death in the immediate family. ("Immediate family" is defined as the employee's or the employee's spouse's children, parents, grandparents, brothers, and sisters. If circumstances warrant, the area Administrator can extend this benefit at her/his option.)

Employees should request permission from their supervisors and turn in an Absence Slip before taking family death or funeral leave.

Please see the Employee Handbook, or contact your supervisor or Human Resources for more information.
